Description and Services
Description (Service) Long term residential group home for children and adolescents with special needs including; autism, developmentally delayed, behaviour difficulties, Tourette Syndrome, non-verbal, hearing impaired. Provides a Life Skill program designed to encourage children to reach their full potential in daily living. Licensed to provide care to only six children, the home is family oriented. They work with surrounding Children's Aid Societies and Children's Services. "Individuality" and a positive sense of self is what they strive to achieve with each child. Heritage House has been providing care to special children for 28 years. All caregivers hold diplomas for Developmental Service Worker (DSW), Child Care Worker (CCW), etc. Heritage House offers a full recreational program within the home and the community. Recreation is geared toward the individual child/youth. Family involvement is encouraged. This home is privately owned and operated. Not affiliated with any other home.
