Description and Services
Description (Service) This Program provides an opportunity for youth to address their offending behaviour while avoiding a youth record. There are two referral processes, that being pre-charge and post-charge. Youth are required to attend a committee meeting where they must be willing to accept responsibility for their behaviour and comply with committee recommendations. It is considered an Extrajudicial Measure and the victim is invited to participate in the process. The successful completion of these measures result in a final court appearance and the charge(s) will be stayed by the Crown Attorney (post-charge). For pre-charge cases, the referring police officer will receive a report detailing the results. Police services will maintain a record of the youth's involvement for up to 2 years. Please visit our website for further details.
