Description (Service) | A free drop-in centre for youth 6-12 years and teens 13-16 years * the centre works with youth, teens and community partners to ensure the provision of youth/teens programs and events which promote emotional and social well-being and which address identified needs. Some of these programs and events are: babysitting course, home alone, online safety, dances, seasonal activities, etc. Youth Resiliency Programs: Mindful Masters - this program provides easy strategies to help children, aged 9 to 12, focus their attention, improve on self-regulation, build resiliency and develop a positive mindset. Every Tuesday for 8 weeks | 6 pm – 7:30 pm Kids Have Stress Too! (for parents) - this program teaches parents and caregivers of children ages 4 to 9 to recognize when children are stressed and teach them ways to cope. You will learn to help your children develop healthy strategies which will help them to adapt, be resourceful, feel confident and become resilient. Every Thursday for 3 Weeks | 6 pm – 8 pm Y.A.S (Young and Skilled) - PA Days - this workshop will teach life skills to youth ages 10-14. Participants will learn simple skills to be healthy, happy, and helpful through physical activity, healthy eating, self-care, and contributing to the community. PA Days 9 am – 4 pm |
