Description (Service) ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is known as Lou Gehrigs's Disease. * the most common form of motor neuron disease * is a progressive and ultimately fatal neuromuscular disease. * It causes nerve cells to degenerate * voluntary muscles weaken and become immobile * Approximately 3,000 Canadians live with ALS * 2 to 3 Canadians a day die of ALS * Committed to support research towards a cure. * support provincial ALS Societies in their provision of quality care for persons living with ALS * build public awareness and its impact.
