Description (Service) Follows the Headstart program for pre-school children guidelines * provides both indoor and outdoor free play activities and structured learning period * educational field trips and special excursions 
 
Developmental activities: 
 
* gross motor skills through climbing, running, biking 
* social skills through cooperative games and sharing of equipment 
* physical wellness through fresh air and exercise on daily basis 
* appreciation of nature and outdoor environment and observation of the changes such as changing seasons

Application Parents may make self-referrals or children may be referred by social service agencies.

Fees Service ; Each licensed Headstart program has full or partial subsidies for families who qualify. Parents may apply for a subsidy through the City of Ottawa Childcare Registry and Waitlist. For help applying for a subsidy, please call or stop by a Headstart program in your neighborhood, call 3-1-1 or go to a City of Ottawa Client Service Centre. * Fee assistance available for those who meet the criteria ; assistance is provided by the City of Ottawa.
