Description and Services
Description (Service) Financial support to post-secondary students, and recent post-secondary and high school graduates who are unable to find work due to COVID-19 * from May to August 2020 * provides a payment of $1,250 for each four week period or $2,000 for each four-week period for students with a dependants or a disability

Eligibility Students who are unable to work or who cannot find work due to COVID-19:
* currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational program
* who completed or ended their post-secondary studies in December 2019 or later
* who completed or expect to complete high school, or received, or expect to receive their high school equivalency in 2020, and have applied for a post-secondary educational program that starts before February 1, 2021

Must be a Canadian citizen, registered Indian, permanent resident, or protected person

Students must be actively looking for work and cannot already be receiving the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) or Employment Insurance (EI)

Various other criteria apply, visit the website for additional criteria Could eligibility be expanded to include citizenship status as requirement (only Canadian citizens, registered Indians, PR and protected persons can get CESB) so international students who are here on a study permit only do not qualify. Application Program available starting May 15th, 2020 and ending on September 30th, 2020 * students must apply for every four-week period they are eligible for * visit the website to determine when to apply * applications are made through the MyCRA portal or by calling 1-800-959-2019 or 1-800-959-2041
