Disaster event --- Flooding in Clarence-Rockland Region.

Latest news:
* Sandbagging activity has ceased and a clean up plan is in place. See here for collection sites for sandbags. Collection dates will follow.
* Residents who need help removing sandbags can call 613-446-6022.

Red Cross Registrations: affected residents should click here to register online or call 1-800-863-6582 to speak to a Red Cross representative from Monday to Sunday 9 am to 9 pm EST.

Emergency Shelters: the Clarence Creek arena (418 Lemay St, second floor, Clarence Creek) is available * residents should call 211 to be transferred to the City staff person on call * the shelter is fully accessible

Water level information: Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board

Electricity reconnection: customers in flood affected areas should hire a licensed electrical contractor to assess and repair any water damage to your home’s electrical systems (list of licensed electrical contractors can be found at www.findacontractor.esasafe.com. Homeowners should ask their contractor for a copy of the ESA Certificate of Inspection for record keeping and insurance. The licensed electrical contractor will then file a permit with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) who will determine if it is safe to have Hydro One restore power. * Hydro One is waiving all connection fees along with delivery fees for the disconnection period.

Road closures: visit http://municipal511.ca for road closure information * the Bourbonnais ferry (in Cumberland) is now open.

Information for affected residents:
* Requests for flood recovery assistance can be made to Team Rubicon/NGO Alliance here
* Residents should drain water from the sink, or take showers if their septic system is not submerged in flood water. To support residents, porta-potties are available at affected sites.
* Affected residents can drop by the Rockland YMCA (1525 Du Parc Ave, Rockland, ON K4K 1C3) to take a shower * hours are Mon-Sat 6 am-11 pm and Sun 8 am-6 pm. Valid piece of ID required.
* Residents on well water are encouraged not to drink or use their well water * for more information, visit the Eastern Ontario Health Unit's page: Guidance for Well Owners During and After a Flood * well water testing kits are available at the Health Unit (229, Laurier St, Suite 200, Rockland) * bottled water is available at the Jean Marc Lalonde Arena
* For tetanus vaccines/information on vaccines, contact the Eastern Ontario Health Unit at 613-446-1400

* Parent's Your Independent Grocer is accepting monetary donations (in person, using cash or machine at the register) * the money will be used to purchase food and water for the volunteers or affected residents
