Description (Service) | Community safety initiative aiming to connect individuals at acute risk of harm to the services that make the most sense * physically brings community agencies together to discuss situations of extreme risk, and provide targeted, wraparound interventions to individuals, families and places that are at acutely elevated levels of risk of harm * through data collection on risks, MERIT supports identification of trends, gaps, system level barriers and best practices in human service delivery systems for vulnerable and at-risk populations Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) Project for the Ottawa Police Service: aimed at increasing awareness and responsiveness to radicalization, whether left, right, or ideological * objectives are to establish front-line awareness and community and civic capacity to recognize, and intervene to reduce risk, victimization, and criminality associated with violent extremism |
