| Description (Service) | Home help offered by personal support workers, health care aides, home support workers, registered practical nurses, registered nurses or nurse practitioners Medical services: * Nurturing of the mentally challenged or impaired * Foot care: Includes nail cutting, corn and callus control, infection cleansing, and appliance or pad application * Medication management: For optimum chronic disease (diabetes to high blood pressure) and pain management Non-medical services: * Companionship * Respite care * Light housekeeping: Dusting, mopping floors, vacuuming, laundry, changing bedding, scrubbing the bathroom and general tidying of living spaces * Kitchen assistance: Meals can be planned in conjunction with a nutritionist or with the customer, dishwashing, food protection, and cooking * Grocery planning and shopping * Excursion to medical appointments/social events by public transportation or the client’s vehicle * Home basics: Gardening, arranging lawn mowing or light landscaping, garbage removal, utilities (heat) check, watering indoor plants, replacing light bulbs, etc. * Pet care: Feeding and exercising the pet * Basic personal care: Hygiene, hairdressing, getting dressed and/or applying makeup * Logistical settlement of Syrian refugees |
