Description (Service) | COVID-19 (20 Mar 2020) Call the Centre at 613-737-5115 before attending. Many of the programs and services are currently suspended or changed to phone appointments until further notice. Support and services to families with children 0 to 6 years old * Playgroup: Fun-time * lots of toys * good snacks * a place for children to learn and make friends * a chance for parents/caregivers to meet other parents/caregivers * open Mon-Wed and Fri from 9:30 am-12:30 pm * Parent Support Program: Parent Support Workers offer friendly and confidential support, help with everyday issues * information on pregnancy, birth, child development and parenting, as well as help to focus on children's health, and stimulate their development by bringing activities and books. Parent Support Workers help connect with community resources such as housing, Ontario Works, schools, child care, etc. * Books for Babes: Parent Support Workers show the use of books in a variety of fun ways to help children learn to express themselves, learn words and eventually read * Community Nurse: Available to pregnant women and families with young children, supports breastfeeding, and postnatal health * information and health services * Drop-in anytime: Visit, obtain support and information at the Community House * Community Connections Worker: On Wed, help for newcomers to Canada who may have issues regarding immigration, sponsorships, integration, citizenship, etc. * Christmas program |
