Description and Services
Description (Service) Winter celebration * event occurs during February on the Rideau Canal Skateway, at Confederation Park in downtown Ottawa, and at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau. A variety of activities are also presented in Canada's Capital Region by a multitude of programming partners. 
 
* crystalline ice sculptures - Crystal Garden International Ice-Carving Competition 
* Public Art and photo exhibits 
* Sub-Zero DJ Nights 
* special events and sports competitions 
* skating on the world's largest skating rink, the Rideau Canal Skateway 
* North America's largest winter snow playground at Jacques-Cartier Park, where there is plenty of outdoor adventure fun, including larger-than-life snow slides and snow sculptures, lighting effects at night and the Ice Hogs (the friendly Winterlude mascots)

The many Winterlude activity venues are accessible every day, except Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau (Hull area), which is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; however, special activities take place over all three Winterlude weekends.
