Description and Services
Description (Service) Provides support, assistance and information to people living with a brain injury, their families and professionals. 
 
Offers supportive services for treatment, rehabilitation, counselling and care * assists in the development of such programs * works towards improved services in the local community * fosters public awareness of the needs of the survivors of brain injury and their families * promotes the prevention of traumatic brain injury. 
 
Step Up Work Centre: provides acquired brain injury survivors with a safe space to come learn and share their experiences. This member-run program offers opportunities in each of the following units: administration * kitchen and food preparation * maintenance / environmental with a goal of vocational training. * Also offers education workshops on life skills as well as mediation and cognitive fitness. 
 
Homemade meals served on Wednesday and Thursday at a cost of $3.50 
 
Artistic Expressions Workshop provides participants an opportunity to use their creative abilities as everyday coping strategies.  
 
Peer Mentoring Telephone Program: Partners and Mentors are matched for this once a week telephone program. All participants are screened and mentors require a criminal check.
Hours Mon-Fri 10 am-3 pm * by appointment only
Meetings Concussion Support Meetings held every Monday from 10:30 am to 12 noon 
 
Peer support meetings are held bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12 noon 
 
A family support meeting is held the third Tuesday of the month from 7 pm to 9 pm 
 
The drop-in group meets for a brown bag lunch or snack on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 2 pm at The Step Up Work Centre.
