Description and Services
Description (Service) Early intervention programs that provide early childhood education, health, nutrition, parent involvement and support services to multi-risk children and their families. Services and resources are designed to enhance children's physical and emotional well-being, establish an environment to develop strong cognitive skills and promote school-readiness, as well as provide direct services or referrals to families in need. 
 
Special Services of Headstart Programs: speech and language program, referrals and support * transportation for children to and from the program * parenting workshops, case management and referrals

Application Parents may make self-referrals or children may be referred by social service agencies.

Fees Service ; Each licensed Headstart program has full or partial subsidies for families who qualify. Parents may apply for a subsidy through the City of Ottawa Childcare Registry and Waitlist. For help applying for a subsidy, please call or stop by a Headstart program in your neighborhood, call 3-1-1 or go to a City of Ottawa Client Service Centre. * Fee assistance available for those who meet the criteria ; assistance is provided by the City of Ottawa.
