Prevention and early intervention services for socially isolated, low-income families with children. Using a community development approach, mutual support groups are formed in West Central Ottawa. Based on the principle of self-help, the programs assist families to acquire the skills, supports and services they need.
Emphasis is placed on building parents' capabilities and the community through networking of parents, group activities, and the provision of services and information.
