Description (Service) | Extended Health Benefits Program allows working resident who have low incomes and are not supported by Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program to access adult dental care, vision care, glasses or contact lenses and prescription medications * up to $600 per individual and $800 per families Affordable Transit Pass Program offers eligible Kingston residents a discount monthly My Card bus pass so that cost isn’t a barrier to using Kingston Transit. Transit Employment Program provides recently hired Kingston residents (part-time or full-time) with a free two month Kingston Transit pass for those who need assistance getting to and from work. Subsidy Program for Affordable Recreation in Kingston (SPARK) allows eligible Kingston residents of all ages reduced-cost access to municipally-run recreation and leisure programs. Responsible Pet Owner Program has a limited amount of $250 vouchers for low-income pet owners to have their pet spayed or neutered. |

Application | * Application forms are available online or can be picked up at Housing & Social Services (362 Montreal St), City Hall (216 Ontario St), INVISTA Centre, Kingston Frontenac Public libraries, Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre and Artillery Park Aquatic Centre (382 Bagot Street). * Applications must be submitted in person during business hours * Bring proof that you live in the City of Kingston and proof of family income to your appointment * Applications are accepted all year, but recreational program assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are spent. Kingston Transit Monthly My Card discounts will be available for the balance of each calendar year. |
