Description and Services
Description (Service) Sentencing option under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) * an alternative to custody that provides intensive services in a community setting to youth with serious mental health issues who would likely have been sentenced to custody but can be appropriately supported and supervised in the community. * Specialists are supervised by a psychologist and work with the youth and the family to implement individualized programming that targets areas that reduce the likelihood of recidivism.

Eligibility Ages: 12 year(s) - 17 year(s) 
The youth must have been charged with an offense that is currently before the youth courts, be between 12 and 17 years of age at the time of the offense, and have a confirmed or suspected mental health issue or disorder.
Application Referrals must be made by a probation officer or a Youth Court Justice.
