Description (Service) Movement that turns knowledge of human rights violations into global awareness and action * researches the truth about human rights abuses and mobilizes individuals to take action so that human rights abuses are stopped, individuals and communities are protected, and perpetrators of human rights violations are brought to justice 
* Raises awareness about human rights issues in their communities by talking to the local media; 
* Lobbies their local politicians and government officials; 
* Organizes educational events with guest speakers, videos, and webcasting; 
* Group members write letters, hold vigils, organize demonstrations and other public events, and  
* Works on specific long-standing appeal cases of individuals whose human rights are at risk
